Ladies, Here’re Some Do’s And Don’ts On A Blind Date

One of the most nerve wrecking things ever is making a good impression on your blind date.

Talking points, what to wear and how to stay safe are some of the things every woman thinks about when it comes to going on a blind.

For a blind date, here are some tips to help you put your best foot forward and stay safe.

Dress casual but chic

While you may want to make a good impression, you don’t want to give the impression that you’re trying too hard. Casual chic is the way to go.

Always have emergency contacts

For a blind date, at least two of your friends or siblings must be aware of where you are going to and with whom. If you use the Truecaller app you can even pin the contacts on top of the call log.

Bring your own money

You don’t know how the date will go, so having your own money will definitely not leave you stranded if the date is a bust.

Stop checking your phone

The point of a date is to get to know the other person better. Checking your social media while on a date is a big No! It tells the other person you’re not interested in them.

Don’t over-share

It’s a first date not a pre-engagement dinner. Who your first love was, which of your siblings is your favourite and how many kids you want are not topics to be discussed on a blind date.

Always keep friends or siblings updated

While this may seem to contradict the no checking phone rule, you can always take your phone to the bathroom and send updates to your friends. Rather than typing long messages, use the Flash Messages on your Truecaller app to update your friends. With Flash Messaging, you can avoid calling or writing a full text message. Instead, you just tap the ‘thunder bolt’ symbol next to another Truecaller user’s name in your call log or via T9 search, and you can send a quick message like ‘I am on my way’ or even your location.

Leave if you feel unsafe

Your safety is of utmost importance. If you feel uncomfortable with how the date is going or the venue of the date, please make your excuses and leave.

Always let your friends or siblings know you get home

Just sending a simple flash message that you’re home and safe will take your friends off high alert.
Don’t forget to give your friends the full “deets” later on!
